Wampus Cats look to keep up winning ways in new home stand

The Uwharrie Wampus Cats will go for their third straight win on Thursday night when they return home to start their second home stand of the season.

After a 5-4 home win over the Greensboro Yard Goats last Saturday and a convincing 17-4 road win at the Carolina Ducks on Monday, the Wampus Cats will face the Tarheel Royals at 6:30 p.m. at Don Montgomery Park on Thursday.

They’ll follow that up with a home game on Friday night against the Ducks, a road game in Winston-Salem on Saturday night at Truist Stadium with the Carolina Disco Turkeys, and a Sunday matinee against the Yard Goats at 1 p.m. at Don Montgomery Park. Tickets for all home games are $7 online and $8 at the gate.

"We're very grateful for the overwhelming show of support from our fans in Stanly County and beyond last week," said team owner Greg Sullivan. "We had more than 700 people at the opener and good crowds all last weekend. We're excited to be back and to have a summer full of entertainment in Albemarle with 25 home dates."

Upcoming home games:

Thu vs. Tarheel Royals, 6:30 p.m.

Fri vs. Carolina Ducks, 6:30 p.m.
